| Question: | What would be the allowable shaft size of a non reversible hammermill with an electric motor power of 160kW @ 1485 RPM? |
| Detail: | A non-reversible hammermill with the gearbox reduction ratio of 1.3:1 at efficiency of 90% and gearbox of an output shaft diameter of 130mm with the approximate bearing centers of 1500mm and machine diameter of 950mm. The hammermill has the approximate machine width of 1000mm,approximate radial force due to crushing action is 400kg, additional mass of rotating parts is 100kg, width of rotating parts is 750mm and maximum allowable angle of twist on shaft is 0.5. |
