Key Points for Dust Control in Cone Crushers

12/09/2025

During operation, cone crushers face a significant issue that cannot be ignored – they tend to generate a large amount of dust. If the dust removal equipment paired with the crusher has an insufficient filter area or inadequate air suction capacity, it can easily lead to a dust-filled working environment. The dust in the cone crusher's working environment poses considerable risks to human health. Therefore, how to effectively control dust for crusher equipment has become a major concern for many users. Although there are numerous dust control methods, in practice, overlooking details can easily lead to misconceptions in dust removal.

For instance, many users know that appropriately moistening the material can reduce dust. However, if the material becomes overly wet, it can cause blockage at the discharge outlet and simultaneously increase the ventilation resistance of the dust removal equipment, consequently worsening the dust problem. Similarly, some users, in an attempt to reduce dust caused by air leakage from the crusher housing, choose to sprinkle water at the feed inlet. This approach, however, often backfires and aggravates the dust situation.
