Crushing Methods for Metal Ores
1. Extrusion Crushing: This method utilizes pressure generated by two crushing surfaces gradually approaching the ore. The typical equipment is the jaw crusher. It is suitable for coarse crushing operations but is not ideal for crushing soft materials or materials with high moisture content.
2. Laminated Crushing: The applied force increases gradually and acts over a relatively wide area. The cone crusher is the representative equipment for this method. It offers high compressive strength and great crushing force but is unsuitable for crushing viscous or soft ores.
3. Impact Crushing: This method uses instantaneous impact force to break the ore, achieving significant results. The vertical shaft impact crusher is a typical application of this method. It excels in ore shaping and sand making, but its wear parts tend to wear out relatively quickly.
4. Impact + Hammer Crushing: This method combines impact and hammer crushing principles. The representative equipment is the impact crusher. It produces finished material with good particle shape but is not suitable for processing materials with high water or clay content.
