There are some advantages of vertical mill compared with ball mill

Vertical mill is a new grinding machine made in Liming Heavy Industry. As a hot product, there are many advantages compared with ball mill.

The first one is high efficiency. Vertical mill adopts material bed grinding principle to grind materials, which can help efficiency increased by 30% compared with ball mill.

The second one is simple process. There is a separator in vertical mill, which would transfer materials by hot gas rather than classifier and elevator. So vertical mill takes advantages of simple process, low failure rate, high efficiency and compact layout. The construction area is 70% of ball mill, and the building space is 50-60% for ball mill.

The third one is large drying capacity. Vertical mill adopts hot gas to transfer material. When grinding materials with high moisture content, such as coal, slag, etc., the inlet air temperature can be controlled to make the product reach the final moisture content, and the vertical mill can dry materials with moisture content of 12-15%. Even the drying ball mill can only dry materials with moisture content of 3-4%.

The fourth one is small metal wear. Wear is very small because there is no direct metal contact in vertical mill operation. Unit wear is generally 4-6 g / ton when grinding limestone, but ball mill will cause wear as 500 g / ton. For vertical mill, the effect on whiteness is lighter than ball mill when grinding white minerals.

The fifth one is little noise and dust. The sound is gentle when vertical mill grinds materials, which is usually around 80 decibels. The roller is not directly contacted with the mill, and the noise is about 20-25 dB lower than that of ball mill. The vertical mill adopts integral seal, and the system operates under negative pressure, with less dust and clean environment.

The sixth one is high intelligence. The qualified products in vertical mill can be separated in time which can avoid over grinding, and the product size is uniform. But the ball mill is easy to cause over grinding. It is easy to adjust separator speed, wind speed, roller pressure and product fineness.
